About Belize:
Belize is situate on the eastern coast of Central America and is the only English speaking country in this region. It is bordered on the North by Mexico, on the South and West by Guatemala and on the east by the Caribbean Sea and is considered to be both a Central American and Caribbean nation. Geographically we’re located between 15° 52′ 9″ and 18° 29′ 55″ North Latitude, and 87° 28″ and 89° 13′ 67″ West Longitude with an area of 8,866 sq. miles including 266 sq. miles of islands.
Diverse cultural backgrounds, lush tropical rain forests, the white sandy beaches, ancient Maya ruins, diverse flora and fauna, and the longest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere are just a few of the many natural attractions that allures our many visitors to this tranquil haven. Language:
- Belize is home to many languages. The official language is English although the most common amongst locals is Belizean Kriol (Creole) and also vast majority can also speak Spanish.
Currency:
- Our currency is known as the Belize Dollar. We have a fixed rate of exchange at 2 BZD to 1 USD. There are banks and ATMs throughout the country. Exchange rates are controlled and monitored by the Central Bank of Belize.

Passports:
- Visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Caricom and Canada do not require Visas to enter Belize.

- Direct flights from major airports in cities such as Miami, Dallas, Houston and LA.
Climate:
- The climate is sub Tropical tempered with the usual cool sea breeze. The average annual temperature is 79 Degrees Fahrenheit with a rainy season between June to November.
Legal System:
- The three levels of the judiciary are the Magistrate Court, the Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal. The final appellate court is located in Trinidad and Tobago and is known as the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ). The laws of Belize is based on the English legal system together with locally enacted legislation. There are six districts in Belize. Each of the six judicial districts has a summary jurisdiction court (criminal division) and a district court (civil division), both of which are presided over by a magistrate.
Political Climate:
- An independent member of the British Commonwealth since September 21, 1981, Belize has a stable, democratically elected (every five years) parliamentary government with two major parties.
Head of State:
- King Charles III, represented by a Governor General.
Executive:
- Prime Minister, chosen from the majority party in the legislature.
Tourism:
- This tiny and eclectic country has become one of the most popular eco tourism destinations in Central America. We boast to having the second largest Barrier Reef and which has been declared a World Heritage Site.
Cuisine:
- A multi-cultural nation which boasts of a rich and flavorful variety of dishes. A mix of Caribbean, Mexican, African, Spanish, and Mayan culinary influences. Rice and beans is a major staple, often served as an accompaniment to almost any main dish. You'll also find burgers, pizzas, Chinese food, and Indian restaurants.
